"Cut to the Chase": A Creative Writing Workshop with Zilka Joseph: Interfaith Center, 704 Airport Blvd., Ann Arbor 48108, Wednesdays, February 15, 22, March 1, 8, 15 & 22, 6:30pm-8:30pm. For writers who want critical feedback on what works and what doesn't in their poetry, short fiction, novel excerpts, essays, memoir, and plays (and anything in between). Instructor will provide critiques and offer guidance. Though this class is designed for writers preparing work for submission, any writer who wants to hone their craft/work and writers who want to experiment with different genres will benefit from this honest "cut-to-the-chase" approach. Zilka Joseph was nominated twice for a Pushcart, and was awarded a Zell Fellowship and the Elsie Choy Lee Scholarship from the University of Michigan. Her work has appeared or will be appearing in Poetry, Kenyon Review Online and Mantis. Her chapbooks were nominated for a PEN America award and a Pushcart. Sharp Blue Search of Flame, her new book of poems, was just published by Wayne State University Press. She teaches creative writing, and is an editor and manuscript coach.
