The
Detroit Festival of the Arts
is now Midsummer Nights
in Midtown!
The Detroit Festival of the Arts is not being produced this year but the
University Cultural Center Association (UCCA) and Wayne State University
(WSU) are pleased to announce a new summer series for Midtown Detroit
- Midsummer Nights in Midtown, which will take place every Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday in the month of June.

The awards for best prose short stories go to:
1st place – The Deep End by John Jeffire
2nd place – My Pompeian Orphan Dress by Maria Costantini
3rd place – Feathers by Dennis Hurley
Honorable mentions: Obsessive Possessive by Linda Sienkiewicz
and The Suit Man by Ann Forsaith.
Thanks to our prose judge, novelist Jack Driscoll who described
the winners stories as “quite strong.”
*The awards for best poems will be announced
on the Springfed Arts MDW website by June 1.
