Light Bulb Bash
April 12 at Print Gallery
The 6th annual benefit for Springfed Arts will take place at thePrint Gallery at 28173 Northwestern Hwy., Southfield. Named in the top 100 art and retail galleries in the U.S., The Print Gallery is owned by poet Diane DeCillis. Diane has been most generous for hosting SA-MDW readings and we are excited to transform her space into a non-bashfully attired assortment of artists and patrons of the arts, all of them wining, dining, singing and dancing, bidding their dollars on silent auction items in support of Springfed Arts, your non-profit arts organization.

This year’s 6th annual Light Bulb Bash celebrates Michigan songwriters, inspiring artists who have contributed immensely to the success of John D. Lamb’s songwriting retreats. Dick Siegel and Annie Gallup will be the honored special guests. Dick Siegel’s song, Angelo’s (“eggs over easy, hash browns and you”), is the theme song for Pam Rossi’s Over Easy weekend radio program on WCSX 94.7. Dick was on staff for the first Lamb’s Retreat for Songwriters, held in Harbor Springs in November, 1995. Annie Gallup, who has been on staff for Lamb’s Retreat and for Walloon Writers’ Retreat, talk/sings songs that sound like short stories. She has been likened to a Joni Mitchell-Lou Reed blend with guitar playing that recalls and plays upon the licks of great blues players like Doc Watson and Mississippi John Hurt. John D. Lamb’s new band, which features topnotch Michigan songwriters, Jim Bizer and John Latini, will offer more musical amusement. Support from the Springfed Arts-Metro Detroit Writers community has helped us to inspire writers and poets as well as songwriters. We invite you to attend.
