Springfed Arts Backyard Benefit
Save the Date! Saturday, May 15, 6 pm
Honored guests will be Jim Gillespie, founder/Executive Director of Bliss Fest Music Organization and Kirby, northern Michigan songwriter/founding member of Bliss Fest Music Organization.
Songwriters who will donate a song performance for the event include Dave Boutette, Ralston Bowles, Chris Buhalis, Annie & Rod Capps, Derek Daniel, Dan Hazlett, Jill Jack, John Latini, Dick Siegel, Carolyn Striho, Tracy Kash Thomas and Matt Watroba.

We will be serving good food and drinks from Zumba Mexican Grill and Lily’s Seafood & Grill, holding a raffle and auctioning donated items. The proceeds of the benefit go toward building scholarship funds for Lamb’s Retreat for Songwriters, Springfed Writers’ Retreats and Metro Detroit Writers. It’s our only fundraiser of the year and we depend on a portion of the proceeds for help with our operating costs.

Springfed Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization. Tickets start at $50. All donations less fair market value of any premiums received are deductible.

If you have ever attended one of our writer retreats, you should know that the Bliss Fest Music Organization is where I found the inspiration to produce Lamb’s Retreat for Songwriters over 15 years ago. Jim Gillespie and Bliss Fest have been sponsoring the retreat since its inception and Kirby has been a mainstay from day one. If you’ve never been to a Springfed Arts retreat but you’ve been to Bliss Fest, then this is a chance to thank those guys for the incredible job they’ve done to bring music and culture to northern Michigan for over 25 years.

The Backyard Benefit is at Springfed Arts Headquarters, 627 Lloyd Ave, Royal Oak, 48073
